Now that electro is back in vogue thanks to the likes of Helena Hauff and DJ Stingray, Maceo Plex has decided to relaunch his old electro-leaning moniker Mariel Ito.

His mysterious electro-leaning alias was most active between 2005 and 2006 when Estornel released a handful of productions and an album on SCSI-AV.

Estornel will release his first Mariel Ito EP in 12 years later this month, the new single titled ‘2e Komst’ will land on 26th January via his newly minted imprint Lone Romantic, which he created for the release of his recent Maceo Plex long-play, ‘Solar’.

His forthcoming EP will feature two brand new tracks — ‘Sintex49’ and ‘Dmode90’ — which both showcase his long-time appreciation of obscure, club-facing electro.

In May 2018, Estornel will then release an Mariel Ito retrospective album on R&S Records featuring unreleased tracks between 2000 and 2005.

After that, he will then release another new EP via R&S later in the summer, too.
